It’ll allow you to ride the waves of training better and make progress without constantly feeling run down and burnt out. Here’s a simple way to do this: Week 1: Go for 10 reps at about RPE 9 Week 2 Go for 5 reps about about RPE 8-9 IE- you squat 225 for 10, and then 265 for 5. Now you have some buffer to work with. You can probably make progress by using the 10RM as your training max. If you’re feeling run down and hurting that’s a good strategy. If you’ve generally been feeling good your 5 RM

A first day activity that combines getting to know students AND math! If you’ve never tried the Graph of Me with your students, you have to give it a go this year! Students decide if statements are true or false about themselves. Then they graph the corresponding points to make a shape unique to them! And these look so good hanging on the classroom wall!Let me know if you’ve used this math activity before! ➡️Comment LINK if you’d like me to send you the link to it in my tpt store! | Rise over Ru

The goal of math should always be understanding. When we explore different methods, strategies, and visuals… we’re deepening that understanding. It may not be how we did it in school… but there’s a purpose behind the strategies and models students are learning. | Rise over Run

No math manipulatives? No problem! (Because I’ll send you SO many you can print for free!) I love math manipulatives and want to help you incorporate more of them in your math lessons! ALL grade levels benefit from hands-on math. These manipulatives can help you teach fraction operations, factors, integers, area, volume, polynomials, angle relationships, and more! They are all printable so you and your students can create them. I’m also including a guide with ideas for topics to teach with each

My last video about this circle with 36 points got a lot of attention so here’s part 2! 🤗 This time we create an inscribed angle, which has a vertex on the circumference of the circle. Now we’re going to find the measures of the arc and the angle and make some observations! 🧐 This is really powerful when a room of students all choose their own points so we have lots of different arc/angle combos to observe! We can’t expect math fluency without flexibility. And we can’t expect flexibility without students knowing lots of strategies. When students know several strategies, they can play with the numbers and choose a strategy that makes the most sense and is the most efficient. Being flexible means being comfortable with numbers… and don’t we wish all students had that? | Rise over Run

Math teachers, save these tips to make your math lessons extra impactful this year! 1. Instead of telling students formulas at the beginning of a unit… allow students to explore relationships and discover formulas for themselves. Manipulatives help so much! This will help students to truly understand the math and remember it. 2. Instead of using maths tricks for difficult topics, start with context. We need students to make sense of what they’re doing and think if it’s reasonable. Real context h
