A storm surge crashed against buildings as Typhoon Bavi slammed into China's eastern coast, bringing heavy rain, powerful winds and huge waves to Zhejiang province. The storm made landfall around midnight local time with maximum sustained winds of 90 mph, knocking out power and phone service in the area.
