Happy tails, happy trails! 🐕🌳 The Pinellas Trail Lake Tarpon Canal Bridge has been open for a few months, but yesterday, County Commissioners Brian Scott and David Eggers joined some very good adoptable dogs from Pinellas County Animal Services to give it a celebratory walk. The Pinellas County beach nourishment project is making great progress along our coast! Sand Key Beach is one of the latest areas to receive new sand, restoring a wider shoreline that helps protect homes, infrastructure, and wildlife habitat. Our favorite coastal scientist, Zach Westfall, is back to share how native Florida plants are helping our new dunes stay strong. 💪 Planting is complete in Indian Shores, Redington Shores, and Redington Beach, and now it’s underway in Indian Rocks Beach! 🌱 The plants help the dunes by acting like rebar in concrete and trapping wind-blown sand. A specialized hydrogel is added with each plant to maintain moisture during the dry season. Planting is scheduled to continue through March. Please help

REMINDER: NO OPEN BURNING ❌ The State of Florida has issued a State of Emergency for counties across Florida, including Pinellas, due to the cold front and drought conditions. As a reminder, the burning of yard debris is always prohibited in Pinellas County per Pinellas County Ordinance Sec. 58-206. Currently, drought conditions make open burning even more dangerous in our community. Even the smallest spark from a backyard fire can quickly grow into a dangerous wildfire in these conditions. ✅ Re
